A Letter from Pastor Jim

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” (John 14:1)

These are interesting times that are taking us into uncharted territory. The Covid-19 pandemic is causing all of us to evaluate our safety precautions and way of life and worship.

In order to help prevent the spread of the disease, Palmyra First United Methodist Church is committed to doing everything we can to protect the public. So what does this mean for us as a congregation?

The most noticeable change is that while we will still offer worship it will be very different. There will be no “in sanctuary” congregation! Some of our musicians will be here along with the pastor and a camera operator, but there will be no one in the pews. We will live cast the worship services on Facebook Live. If you need help to set up your device (computer or phone) to receive the service please email or call one of the pastors and we will try to make arrangements for you can participate in the service via Facebook live.

The services will also be available after the service to view on either Facebook or via YouTube.

I give special thanks to both Jacob Butch and Jason Armold for doing yeoman’s work in making this possible.

We will get through this most interesting time.

In the meantime remember, “God is with us.”

Oh yea, and wash your hands!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Jim
